Instrumental only, but the licence outlives the subscription, which almost nothing else here does.
Verdict
Soundraw does one thing no other paid tool here does: the licence survives the subscription. Tracks you made during a paid month stay yours after you cancel. It sings nothing, so it is a background-music tool and should be judged as one.
What it is like to use
Instead of describing a track you assemble one. You pick length, mood, genre and tempo, then push blocks around a timeline until the energy lands where your edit needs it. It is slower than prompting and enormously more predictable, which is the correct trade when the music has to hit a cut at one minute twelve.
Quality is good rather than remarkable, and for the job that is fine. Nobody listening to a product video is going to notice the bassline. They would notice a swell arriving four seconds late, and this is the tool that lets you stop that from happening.
The numbers
5.99 USD a month on Creator, which is the cheapest paid tier in the comparison, but WAV files and stems sit behind the 17.49 USD tier, so anyone who needs to mix properly pays triple the headline. The free tier generates without limit and watermarks every download, which is an honest way to run a trial.
Strengths and weaknesses
What it does well
- The licence survives cancellation. Tracks you made during a paid month stay usable after you stop paying, which is not true of Boomy or Mubert.
- Structure is steered bar by bar instead of described in a prompt.
- Publishing to streaming services is allowed and the royalty claim stays with you.
Where it falls down
- No vocals and no lyrics at all. For a personal song it is simply the wrong category.
- Stems and WAV sit behind the 17.49 USD tier, which is triple the headline price.
Should you buy it
Take Soundraw for video, podcasts and anything where the music sits under something else, and especially if you want to stop paying at some point without losing the right to the tracks you already made. Do not take it if you need a voice.
